I've changed to Progressive's 440's rear shocks (better), changed to Progressive's front springs (better). I'm going to change to the next weight down in fork oil, I think this will give me the ride I'm looking for. I like em, some people don't. If you are tired of the heavy VTX handling around town check these out. You may have to play with (twek) your bike to get it right - but that's part of the fun. I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN COMFORTABLE DOING THIS JOB IF I WEREN'T A FORMAL MOTOTRCYCLE MECHANIC. THERE ARE PRACTICLLY NO INSTUCTIONS (they look like they came out of a cracker jack box), TO GUIDE YOU OR IN MY CASE TO QUICKEN THE JOB ALONG. i REALLY DON'T FEEL THIS IS A JOB FOR EVERY BIKE RIDER TO DO THEMSELVES. NOT THAT THEY CLAIM IT IS EITHER. i WAS A LITTLE WEARY ON THE DESIGN OF HOW IT CLAMPS TO THE FORKS, A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT THAN THE STOCK TRIPLE TREE. DIRECTIONS TELL YOU TO TORQUE TO STOCK SPECS, WELL THE STOCK ONES HAVE TWO DIFFERENT TORQUE SPECS., TOP AND BOTTOM. THESE DIRECTIONS DON'T SPECIFY TWO SETTINGS. IT JUST LEAVES YOU A LITTLE CONFUSED TO WHAT EXACTLY YOU SHOULD TORQUE THESE, BEING SUCH AN IMPORTANT SAFTY ISSUE. I HAVE NOW MADE SURE MY TOP AND BOTTOM ARE THE SAME AS THE STOCK HIGHER SPEC. BECAUSE MY RIGHT FORK TUBE SLIPPED ABOUT AN EIGTH OF AN... Review Details 24 out of 24 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Other wise the speedo hits the control panel. No directions came with them, that is an opportunity. Workmanship is superior. Total cost with risers was about $900! I'd do it again. Suggestion, while you have the forks off, polish them. It will take about 5 hours, but the look is well worth it. Particularly since the trees come highly polished.
