It installed on the outside of the fender ribs, and the screws were too small to work with my saddle bags, had to go to ACE Hardware store to buy screws too. Was kind of a pain to install under the saddlebags. The fact that there were no installation instructions and the bolt holes connecting the mounting brackets to the seat frame didn't line up was more than a little irritating. Cruiser Customizing sent the wrong mounting brackets, but when I called to complain, they were AWESOME about getting the correct part sent out. It's not as high as it looks, but it serves it purpose. I bought it for $136 with shipping and everything from www.bikercom.com shipping is 2-3 days from Spain. It would be a lot easier if something called INSTRUCTIONS came with it, but it's pretty self explaining. Holes didn't match up exactly though, had some problems with that.
