Install requires the tank to be pulled so you can gain access to the front Coil wire. On the C models, there is a yellow wire inside the headlight that is used instead of needing to access the rear coil wire. The tach works fine, but there is some bounce in the needle, and the unit does fog up sometimes. I knew those shortfalls going into this, and I would still buy it again. The cyclecraft tach provides the cleanest look of any of the aftermarket tachs. IF you want the same look and no needle bounce, try to find one with the Autometer Tach installed instead of the Drag Specialties Tach. I hear that they were a better quality. This company no longer produces these Tachs, so I purchased mine off a member from one of the VTX sites. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? I think I would have gotten the chrome one if I had to do it again for easier maintainence. Install on this is not easy at all. Tank has to be moved back and it is difficult to hook up the wires. The bars also have to be undone and it requires you drill two holes in your top clampp for mounting. If you are not very competent mechanically I would have someone else do this for you.
