Finish is real nice and the helmet fit's pretty good. Shield is hard to move up and down, very stiff. The vents are good and provided plenty of ventilation, but the shield still fogged up in the rain which was a pain since I had to crack the shield open to clear it and for the most part had to ride that way in the rain. There is no room for a headset to be installed in the helmet. On the plus side there was considerably less buffeting of my head at highway speeds compared to my other helmets. Overall I doubt I would purchase another one, this one was a gift.

This is my first AFX helmet, and I'm not very impressed with the quality control. Some of the pads were glued in crooked. The chin vents are useless. No matter which direction I slide the control, they stay open. The head vents don't seem to make any difference whether they are open or closed. On the positive side, I have the "Freedom" design. It's a great looking helmet and the finish on the shell is high quality.

I am very impressed with the quality of the AFX helments. I currently have the FX-51 Freedom which was an exchange from AFX for the helment that saved my life last October. At the time I had the FX-11 Freedom. The improved airflow design of this helment makes it easier to ride throughout the Missouri winters without the face shield fogging and icing up.
