I will not use the nifty detachable yoke system though as the VN1500 pillion seat mounting points get in the way. I'm not too keen on the fake elephant hide finish though. They were very dry out the box but a good polish with black shoe polish sorted that out & made the vinyl stuff look a bit more like leather. Even though they are supposedly "plain" they have one concho at the rear just above the fake buckle & strap closure. They have a carry handle at the top of each bag but it seems too flimsy to actually carry the bag with when full. IMHO - they could have been finished off a bit better & only time will tell if the velcro closures will konk out as some other reviewers have noted........ Had 'em on in about a half an hour.First thing that I did after installation was to apply a good dose of armor all because they looked kind of "dry" out of the box.It really did the trick. You will need to have snap added to middle of the "S" on side of the lid if you ride over 65 mph. Velcro comes off at 75-80. Also the inside support plastic is not thick enough to do the job.
