(5 stars) reviewed on 03/09/13 byMike Moreland (moreland4) from Danville, OH, for a 2004 Midnight 1600/1700 Road Star wrote: Nice BRIGHT TachBasic wiring. Looks and works great. It is VERY bright at night. I plan to cover it with a black drawstring bag for night riding. Handlebar clamp had me concerned when I opened the package. Once tightened, it is solid (add some blue thread lock). UPDATE: The light was so bight I had to unhook the the backlit connection. It was too distracting even during daylight riding. Don't need to see the tach at night anyway. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(5 stars) reviewed on 03/05/11 byotooler (otooler) from Mechanicsburg, PA, United States, for a 2004 2000 Vulcan wrote: First of all, this tach has a vivid WHITE backlight. NOT blue like some of the reviews state. The reviews that claim it is a blue backlight are for a different model. This is a nice looking tach, and the chrome housing makes it look top notch. It includes a single fire adapter, which sells for $30 if you bought it individually. Contrary to the pictures shown, there are NO black screws or whatever on the face of the unit, which makes it look nicer. The mount is really unique and high quality as well. Sharp looking product. (5 stars) reviewed on 05/14/10 byJOE (ACCURATEMAN) from DAVISBURG, MI, United States, for a 2004 1100 V-Star Silverado wrote: This thing looks so cool. I also bought the master cylinder mount so it takes up no extra room on my bars. Worth the extra $40. The light is awsome, like a solid white, I wish I could make my speedometer the same color to match. When I start the bike it goes all the way up and then back, looks cool. I have no needle bounce or flickering lights like I read in other reviews. I guess mine was installed properly. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(5 stars) reviewed on 08/26/05 byTom (hmctom) from Chatsworth, CA, United States, for a 1999 1100 Shadow Aero wrote: Great product. Did not install it myself, but the instructions are simple and I don't doubt that it would be an easy install. Looks great on the bike, easy to read. The blue backlighting looks really cool at night and makes night visibility very easy on the eyes. Review Details 4 out of 4 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? (4 stars) reviewed on 07/05/05 byAnthony Leanard (Spanky) from Corpus Christi, TX, United States, for a 2002 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: The tach looks great the blue light background is awesome. The only flaw with the mounting is that, their screws that come in the kit to attach the Tach to the brake master cylinder are to short. I had to go to LOWES and puchace longer screws (8/32 fine thread-$1.07+tax) and then shorten those a 1/4 inch and since metic style screws are hard to find in that style I had to tap out the hole in the master cyclinder to 8/32 to make this work. So basically I now have a standard thread size on a metic bike now. Also if you are not carefull on hooking up the wires and wraping them with elec. tape so they don't arc over and ground out your bike won't run right until you correct the problem(just do that ahead of time). Other then that the tach is really nice and stylish and is very noticable even by passer byes and people in cars. Review Details 6 out of 6 members found this review helpful. Angled readout maps correctly with the handlebars. I had a shop install it so I can't comment on ease of installation. Review Details 3 out of 3 members found this review helpful. I wish my speedo had the same backlight... My only complaint is that it's in a rather awkward spot for viewing your RPMs as you accellerate... but once used to it it's fine. Good quality! (5 stars) reviewed on 05/07/03 byturbodave (turbodave_98) from Alta Loma, CA, United States, for a 1300 Royal Star Tourer Deluxe wrote: Bought this unit from a friend that sold his bike. I am not very good at installing electrical components but this tac was really easy. I have a windshield on my Royal Star and this unit was installed on the right side handlebar resevoir. Is backlit in a light baby blue easily visible at night. Is very accurate when checked with another tac. I have wide handle bars with risers, therefore had to extend the length of the electrical wires, not a problem. Simple installation on the top right coil on the Royal Star. Chrome is top quality.
