It wasn't that hard once I got my jacks in the right spots. I took my time, had a couple of beers and got it done in a couple of hours. The hardest part was getting the stupid stock muffler system back in place - that monstrosity comes off a lot easier than it goes on. It definitely helps to have the right tools, and a bit of customizing/modding experience. Having said that, this kit is awesome for a short dude like me. I'm 5'8" and could sit with my feet flat on the ground wearing riding boots. With this lowering arm in the 2" position, man, what a difference. Feet FIRMLY planted, flat, and even a little flex in my knees. I love it, and in my opinion, I feel like the bike handles better. I've scraped the stock muffler making a hard turn, nothing aggressive, but the clearance making a right turn is reduced a good bit. No big deal - it's just one more reason to buy the Cobra pipes I want and get rid of the beastly stock system. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

You'll have perfect ground clearance and great handling with a lower center of gravity. If you plan on getting a bigger rear tire and sticking with the stock rim like I did, the 2" setting is still enough ground clearance because the tire adds another inch of clearance. Lowering the bike gives it a sleek and essential look. I definitely recommend this kit. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(Thornbyrd) from , , Canada, for a 2008, black 900 Vulcan Custom wrote: For those that are vertically challenged like myself (5'3") all I can say is OMG what a difference lowering the back end by 1" makes. Better control and traction when your stopped on a hill. Centering of the bike drops back into the rider seat versus the tank. You just feel balanced and have more leverage for those times when your balancing the bike versus when your mobile and the cyntrifical (spelling) force keeps you balanced.
