Easy to install, a must have if you upgrade exhaust, V&H big radius PC, k&n filters. I have just had it a few days, but I swear on short rides my engine seems so much cooler. Might be in my head.....

I recently bought a brand new 2009 Yamaha Road Star S 1700. I added the Cobra Fi2000R Power Pro Tuner, a Baron Custom Accessories Big Air Kit, and the Cobra Speedster Slash Down Full Exhaust System. Awesome improvement on the performance, but I was getting a backfire when I shifted from first through third gear. I also had some backfiring and popping when I down shifted, or let off on the throttle to decelerate. I installed this simple product and it got rid of the popping and backfiring all together. It also improved the sound a bit, and my bike responded a lot better. It also cleaned up the front of my engine by getting rid of the clutter. With the help from the diagram on yamahaclinic.com, I installed this product in less than 40 minutes. This product was worth every penny!!

this will really clean up the front of your engine around the starter motor . Gets rid of the whole air injection system. very easy to do as long as you follow directions to the letter. it does cut down on the backfiring . however when you eventually upgrade you air filter and carb needle kit the backfiring comes back but you gain so much more

Works as promised...no more deceleration backfiring. Much easier installation than I thought that it would be.

Was a little tricky to get on. But less back firing the better. Lots of online info on how to do this.
