(5 stars) reviewed on 09/05/11 bySmitty (smitty765) from Stevensville, MT, US, for a 2006 1600 Vulcan Classic wrote: Easy to install. Package came with everything needed, including piggyback spade connectors for the coil. Housing is nice and solid, not plastic, and chrome finish is very good. I will probably pull the cover and paint the needle something more luminescent. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

It all worked out. -- Update after three years: this tach is still awesome. Still looks new and have had no issues. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 01/06/09 byTC (tacoleg) from , , United States, for a 1600 Vulcan Classic wrote: Took me a while to install but it works well. Nice to see the rpm's. The chrome finish is flawless and shiny. On my 2005 Kawasaki 1600 it needed to be connected to the coil accessible on the left hand side of the bike. (If only I'd started there I'd have rated the install easier.) Only thing I'd change would be to have an adjustment for the tach's lighting. It's a bit too bright! (5 stars) reviewed on 11/15/05 byOtter Hill (otter713) from Jacksonville, FL, United States, for a Kawasaki 1600 Classic - 2004 1600 Vulcan Classic wrote: Nice accessory. Had to disconnect my tank to install. This was not a big deal. Remove the seat, remove the speeo cowl. Remove the three tank mounting bolts (2 under the seat and one under the cowl) and then lift the tank up about 2 inches. I used a rolled towell to support the tank in the raised position. This made it MUCH easier to reach the coil poser leads. On the Vulcan 1600, I used the left ignition coil. The positive leads were to the midline of the bike and the negative leads were toward the outside. I used the mounting stud as the ground. (5 stars) reviewed on 08/15/05 byJames (lukeja1) from Seattle, WA, United States, for a 2003 1600 Vulcan Classic wrote: I got this product so I would hopefully stop looking for that non-exsistant 6th gear on the highway. I was worried about the install since people mention having to take off the tank. However you do not need to do that if you excersize a little patience and use some needlenose pliers to take off the ignition coil connectors. The parts Baron provides are perfect for the job. The white face matches the spedometer well. Review Details 10 out of 10 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(5 stars) reviewed on 04/22/05 byTQ (tqp817) from Pawling, NY, United States, for a 2003 1600 Vulcan Classic wrote: Very easy to install and works great. Just use some kind of heat heat shield on the wires under the tank to keep them from getting to hot, which makes the tach jump. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. Simple hook up on the Vulcan 1600. You don't have to take the tnk off--simply conect to the right side coil per the directions and go for a ride. Probably not something you need but it sure looks nice. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
