(if it worked) It was simple to install and the instruction sheet that came in the package was accurate however the tacho only reads half scale! I bought the addapter kit that barron specified and that made the problem worse, the tacho surged and bounced radically. It became unusable. Installing the tacho put two small dents in the bars so I cannot take it off and throw it away, if your thinking about getting one ... dont. There is not enough straight area of bars for this to mount between the riser and the first bend in the bars. Go look for a different model. The tach looks great but the needle bounces like crazy so I finally bit the bullet and removed it. Review Details 4 out of 5 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? It gives a fluctuating reading at idle, a large degree of flutter between shifts and an overall poor performance. If you want a tech that gives you accurate information, do not purchase this one. This has nothing to do with the way the tach was installed!! (read other reviews, they all say basically the same thing). Review Details 13 out of 15 members found this review helpful. (1 stars) reviewed on 06/03/06 byBill (wcmarino) from Exton, PA, United States, for a 2002 Black 1100 V-Star Classic wrote: Very nice looking addition. I prefer engine speed over the speedometer any day. Took some time to install. Needed to remove front side covers, seats & gas tank to make it easier to install. I prefer to solder the connections rather then use the supplied butt connectors. I don't want to worry about the connections in the future. Needed a test light to find the correct wires to use. ***UPDATE*** After about 2 years the tach is pretty much useless. The Needle bounces all over the place at higher RPM's. Acts light there is a short inside the tach. The wiring is fine it is internal. I would not buy this again. Review Details 4 out of 4 members found this review helpful.
