The tach looks great, however the needle does bounce around and more aggravating than that the bulb burned out within one month of usage. My tach was installed by Honda on a VTX1300C. I brought it back to have fixed, of course the bulb was not covered and therefore neither was the repair, which coincidently never happened as Baron's customer service has not returned any calls regarding the replacement bulb. I was hoping to get an LED to replace the other, possibly in red to match the red on the speedometer. So maybe the service ends as soon as the part is purchased. Buyer beware!!!!

Looks great. Nice billet chrome. Following install, tach needle jumped around badly, mostly on decel. One of the tech people at Baron had a VN2000 with the same problem, and I don't think a fix was ever found. Lately, in hot weather, needle began jumping so badly tach was mostly worthless. After two years I replaced it with an OEM mini tach which works flawlessly and seems more accurate. Can't recommend this tach for the VN2000 because of functional problems.

Finished!!!!!!!! What a job!!!!! This tach took me 6 hrs. to install...on a vulcan nomad. I had to remove the tank and add extra wire to the tach, you might not have to do this but I chose to. I downloaded diagrams from Kawasaki to know where the coils are located. That was my most concern since I am not a mechanic. There was more wiring I had to move ouy of the way, but once I new what to do it worked fine. The Tach works great! , jumps around a bit at idle, smooths out at higher rpm's. Be sure you have everything you need before starting, it helps if you want to getter done. Update 7-3-07 Left my motorcycle out in the rain for the first time since installing this Tach, BAD IDEA! , now it has moisture in it and it is now fogging up on the inside. I thought these were water proof?
