Have an older version of the same type of open air filter design that is no longer available or sold. The newer BAK uses a thinner filter medium thus eliminating the protrusion on the side of the bike and into your right leg. I've had this part sitting in the garage for several years and never installed it due to not wanting to deal with re-jetting. Biggest regret is not installing it sooner and biting the bullet to rejet. The air flow provided is much greater than stock and allows the flow needed for aftermarket pipes. After installation, the bike ran like absolute crap until the rejet was performed. If you have aftermarket pipes, then an aftermarket air filter system is needed to gain the performance. The installation was fairly straightforward and tremendously improved air flow.

Had to wait about a month for delivery, but now that I have it I am very happy with the purchase. Looks good and more importantly works great! A noticeable improvement in performance. I had shop intall and rejet carb (all jet parts come with kit. An hour and a half labor charge, but well worth it- note: my mechanic says he has done lots of these so he has learned how to do the install quickly- it my take someone else longer....

this breather kit supplies massive air flow, there was a significant increese in power. i'm no mechanic, and installed the kit myself, i recommend using your service manual. it was actually easier to install the jet kit then i thought. however the front cover on the BAK is a real pain to line up the bolts. but hey, if i can get her done, so can you.

Takes about 3 hours to install. Just follow the instructions. Get rid of a bunch of hoses. When you will install the valve block off you will need to replace the gasket. You can not use the OEM gasket (doesn't fit). Use any gasket seal:)... Do not expect turning your cruiser into a croch rocket:) but our engine will run smoother, lower RPM and better gas millage:)))and of course it looks so much nicer than the OEM plastic box!!!
