This is a must-have due to the design on the V-Star bikes. Who wants to remove the exhaust pipes just to change the oil? You make your money back with 1-2 oil changes!

Looks sharp. You definitely need the T.O.R.K. cover to go with it. Should make my next oil change a snap. The filters are spendier than the OEM paper filter, but not having to disassemble the bike to get to the filter is worth the extra money. So far no leaks. Installation of the filter kit itself is quite easy. However, the install took longer than expected due to the normal unforeseen problems. The front pipe (Vance & Hines) was difficult to remove and even more difficult to reinstall. I highly recommend going to the Baron's website and watching the installation video. It explains things much better than the written instructions included with the kit.

Okay, so I thought this was a good idea. It makes oil changes a breeze and convenient. however I have been reading a lot about the restricted oil flow during cold starts and I am debating going back to the stock carteidge filter. Any experienced suggestions?

The Yamaha engineers must have had a brain fart when the designed the location of the stock oil filter on the V-Star 1100. This is a must have item. /the K & N 303 filter has a nifty 17mm bolt head on the filter making changing the filter a snap. Go ahead and buy the T.O.R.K. cover when buying the relocation kit. without the optional cover the installation looks second rate and uuuggglllyyy. If you hve Cobra pipes you will need to re-mount the rear brake master cyclinder. I drilled a 5/16 hole at the base of the existing master cylinder mount bracket and replaced the stock master cylinder hose with one about an inch longer. wax the screw on filter and mount to help with cleaning.

Perfect>>Will pay for itself 10x's over. Involved but easy install. Did it in less than 1 hour and some of that time was cleaning the places I couldn't reach with the pipes in the way. If you have the floor board ext. you won't have to drop the floor board. Damn thing looks really cool too! Really appreciate the pre-assembly & NO LEAKS! Would have been nice to know that the tork cover is a necessity to make it complete. I would have ordered at the same time to save the shipping cost. Great Kit Guys>>>thanks...RIDE HARD / RIDE SAFE

Ordered direct from Baron, as they come pre-assmebled there. NO LEAKS. Also installed the v65 t.o.r.k. plate that covers up an otherwise ugly void left by removing the oem filter plate. K&N chrome filters are much better than the chrome "slide on" filter cover. After a few thousand miles, they get pitted and look bad. New chrome filter for every oil change is the way to go. 20 minute oil changes instead of a knuckle busting hour and a half taking off pipes and floor boards. well worth the $$.

NOT EXACTLY SURE IF THIS IS THE ONE THAT CAME ON MY BIKE, BUT LOOKS VERY CLOSE. THIS IS A VERY GOOD UNIT, IT STOPS THE NEED TO TAKE THE EXHAUST OFF. AROUND HERE THEY ARE CHARGING 100 FOR A OIL CHANGE, THIS WILL PAY FOR IT SELF VERY FAST.
