(2 stars) reviewed on 08/22/11 byMichael (Hollywood64) from Bartow, FL, for a 2003 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: You MUST remove the reed valve assembly with these plates! There is no dimple for the screw head that holds the reed valve assembly together. After doing the desmog and pair valve removal, the bike has a deeper sound. Very nice. Honestly, do yourself a favor and shop around for the chrome ones, with the dimples. Removing the reed valve assembly, then taking out the little screw to reinstall the gasket plate will be difficult for some with little mechanical skill. You have to be VERY careful not to damage the gasket plate or the covers will leak. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Very easy to install once you get the tank and PAIR valve assembly off. Reduces the need for choke use and deepens the exhaust sound in my opinion. Review Details Was this review helpful to you?
