Just installed this. It does exactly what I needed it to do... no more bottoming out on corners with the girlfriend on back... it was tell her to lose weight... or add a spring.... I added the spring! LOL

I had it installed at the same time as my lowering kit, so i dont know how much better it will help because i have nothing to compare it to, but i havent bottomed out yet and i dropped my bike 2 inches. so it must be working. It would be nice if it was progressive, but its ok, its just a little bit stiffer of a ride.

I lowered the bike 2" (5cm) and I was bottoming out. The spring did the job! I don't bottom out any longer even with a light passenger!

I actually bought mine off Ebay new for about $50, couldn't pass it up. I have hesitated because, I feel they are a little too expensive. My Vstar 11custom is lowered 1 1/4" and the swing arm was always tapping the frame. I'm 6'1" 250lbs. and riding 2up with my wife was almost impossible and she's not a real big lady. Seems to be worth the $100 if you can't find a good deal. I haven't put it to the full test of a bumpy road, but I will update. Removing the assembly and removing your old spring is possible yourself. Getting this heavier one on, is almost impossible, without the correct tool . If anyone lives around Ft.Worth, Texas, the only place I found that would do it was Piper Performance in NRH. The dealer couldn't even do it. I found it a little difficult getting evrything removed from the bike put back the way it should be.

had to bring to shop to have it installed onto the shock but removing from the bike was easy! Works great don't have to worry about bottoming out with the lower fender!

Had this spring but was bottoming out too much with the lowering kit that I have so I upgraded to a progressive spring with a rating from 825 to 1200 lbs. I got mine at PCS and it makes all the difference now! A must if you decide to put a lowering kit on the bike!

After installing the PCS lowering links (dogbones) I found that the bike bottoms out on occassion, so I have purchase this spring to improve the situation but have not installed it as of yet. The purchase price is just the starting point. The dealer wants a pretty penny to install this spring. They say it takes a special tool. It cost so much if they do it all (almost 4x times the cost of the spring) and a little less if you bring the shock into them already removed from the bike where they just change out the spring.

Definaetlt improved ride with barons lowering kit, dont go past 1 icnh drop , thats moer than enough, you need this spring to keep the 1 inch drop at 1 inch while riding , without spring you will bottom out with stock spring and shock ....this spring has a 800lb ride . stock only 572lbs ....dont ride without it

i like the fact that i can keep my bike lowered and still ride two up. I am a heavy guy at 270 so if i go two up with my wife it used to ride on the frame if the road got a bit rough (train tracks etc)
