Replaced the original bars with these on my 2005 650 vstar classic. Tried to use the stock cables (just reroute). Would have, the brake cable is a little too tight. My own fault, I messed up the throttle cable so I replaced the whole set. Very comfortable.

Took off stock beach bars for these, sooo much more comfortable! Fairly easy install, rerouted cables behind triple tree, probably need to get 4" longer clutch cable. Should of probably gone higher (12-14").

I like the looks of these bars and the higher riding position. They're pretty much the same height as my shoulders so I'll see how they feel on longer rides, and I think it'll feel a little different playing in the curves as you can't exactly C.O.W. with higher bars. I'm sure I'll get used to it. Instalation: The bars themselves were easy. Changing out all of my cables was a lot more work, then breaking one of my risers in the process set me back another week. Also, lesson learned, if you're thinking about new bars, do it prior to putting on heated grips or any other accessories to save yourself some trouble.

Cool bar! I like it. The stock handlebar is not very good in turning.

Great question. The bar in question has a Center Width: 11"; End Width: 32.25"; Rise: 12" and Pullback: 6.75" You will have to measure you stock VTX bar and see if the measurements net the same, more, or less than this... Measurement can be done as follows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtXiXDQs8g4
Yes, CC sells stock length cables, shorter than stock and extended cables for your VTX 1800R
