In conjunction with the risers it allows me to lean back and take some pressure off my back. The grips are now several inches higher and the angle of my wrists is way more comfortable. After installing them and taking the bike on a few runs I fell in love with them. Very comfortable for me (a very large rider, 6' 4" 300lbs). And the look on my bike was GREAT.
