Russ (clinardr) from , , United States, for a 0 750 Shadow Aero wrote: Well pleased with the tach. O4 Honda Shadow Aero has 2 coils; 1 up front left side underneath tank, 1 under the right sidecover. Remove the seat and loosen the tank to access the coil. Outside wire on coil(blue with yellow stripe) was the negative on my bike. Finding a hot wire was the most fun. Remember to buy a mounting bracket. I used the Kuryakyn P Clamp KY-4018. Good heavy chrome bracket. Strip of innertube used under bracket as a scrach preventer. Steve (something) from Perth, Australia, , Australia, for a 2007 1100 V-Star Classic wrote: Took about 2 hours to install, but that was mainly due to faffing around trying to figure where the best place to mount the tacho was. On the V-Star Classic, you need to remove the seat, then undo the tank and pull it back to remove the plastic steering head covers. Connect to the coil on the right hand side [one with the orange negative wire]: red and yellow to positive on the coil [red wire], green to negative [orange wire], and the black wire to one of the bolts holding the coil to the frame. Pretty easy once you know where to connect it to and what wires to where. The attached cable on the tacho is not very long, so you are limited in positioning the tacho unless you add more wire. The blue light is a bit too much in my opinion, but otherwise works a treat and certainly helps you know where the engine is at as you're riding along. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? (aero2008) from , , for a 0 750 Shadow Aero wrote: Wow. What a great buy! Just installed it this morn on my 2008 Shadow. The unit is nicely built. Simple and generic. Gives a whole new sporty element to look. Great mount included. Wiring was so simple. The white face is elegant and bright. Imagine when I first turned on ignition the face glowed a cool blue backround. Soooo cool. Then it did a full left to right sweep and settle at idle RPM when bike is running. Smooth operation. Love it. Hemmed and hawwed about it compared to units costing triple the price and then thought to take a chance on it. Boy glad I did. Friends are freaking out the payed hundreds for theirs and no where as cool as this little gem. Highly recommend. Good day eh!! Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
