Excelent quality item. Installation was easy to put on the bike. Very difficult with many adjustments to fine tune it. It has to be precise to work correctly. Once adjusted it is fantastic!

Works quite well. Smooth operation with a solid feel. I don't use it all that often. I like the release with the front brake lever. In retrospect, I would not pay the price again knowing how much I use it, but don't regret the purchase.

Howdy Brett and welcome to CCC!
I currently use the Brakeaway unit on my Road Star and previously used it on my V-Star with Kuryakyn Iso-Grips. So it will, in fact go over the grips. The instructions said to use a little bit of liquid dish soap to help it slide over the rubber parts on the grip. You will have to remove the throttle boss to install the Brakeaway unit and then re-install it when finished.
