(5 stars) reviewed on 06/19/10 byDustin McKinney (pittypaws) from Coulee City, WA, United States, for a 1996 Herritage Softail Classic Softail wrote: Excelent quality item. Installation was easy to put on the bike. Very difficult with many adjustments to fine tune it. It has to be precise to work correctly. Once adjusted it is fantastic! (5 stars) reviewed on 04/15/09 byRobbie Watts (robam) from Beavercreek, OH, United States, for a 2007 Softail wrote: Works quite well. Smooth operation with a solid feel. I don't use it all that often. I like the release with the front brake lever. In retrospect, I would not pay the price again knowing how much I use it, but don't regret the purchase. (3 stars) reviewed on 07/08/08 bySgt Rock Duke from Avon, IN, Canada, for a 1993, black Softail wrote: Nice, quality product but difficult to install and adjust. There are 4 screws for the ring and they are TINY, like eyeglass screws. Plus, if you have a Softail, you have to remove stock brake pin and install theirs. To make an adjustment, I had to take it partially apart over and over. I followed the instructions to the letter but the unit kept slipping and/or wouldn't stay engaged. I FINALY got it to work correctly and took it for a long test ride. It works wel. It was very expensive and I hope it holds up, if it does, it will be worth the cost and aggravation. (3 stars) reviewed on 03/20/07 byJohn T` from Lake Orion, MI, for a 2004 FLSTC-I Softail wrote: I got the BrakeAway last summer and rode 2000 miles after putting it on my 04 Heritage Softail Classic. It has a tendency to slip a bit but overall is very helpful on a long cruise. Be cautious if you are changing grips, it will NOT fit with all replacement grips. You must check that out in advance. Does tend to gain or slow and needs adjustment periodically while riding. Review Details 15 out of 18 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
