Days after I posted my review here I got an email from Break Away Products requesting that I set aside some time for them to troubleshoot with me over the phone. It was winter so I didn't call until this spring. The fact that they reached out to me because of my forum post and their patience in me calling and on the phone with me gives them 5 stars for customer support. Bryan at Break Away Products was friendly and determined that we get the issue resolved cause he knew it was just a slight tweak that needed to be done, with some issues on my end we had it tweaked up and working as it should within 20 minutes. I'm going on a 1,500 mile trip this week, I'll be sure to come back and review after it gets lots of use. Original review: (12-7-2010) slid over stock grips on C50. Works well, but not great. This opinion is based solely on my experience with the installation, and "static" testing in the garage. Installation was twitchy - getting the ring around the throttle grip to roll smoothly; a slight tightening or loosening of a screw/bolt, or a slight twist of a piece one way or the other, would cause it to bind up so that the throttle could not snap closed when released and had to be forced closed (yikes! dangerous). It took a lot of "fine tuning" to get the parts aligned just right. All in all, the installation took about 2-3 hours; most of that was "fine tuning". The instructions were clear, but could have used more guidance for that "fine tuning". After installation, the product seems to work fine (in the garage). Locking and releasing the "cruise control" (i.e. throttle lock) works as advertised. Once you understand how the unit works the install goes good, you also need to take the time to make sure the adjustments are done properly. Looks like OEM part. Installation and adjustment are a little tricky, you have to take your time and follow instructions to the letter. It may need additional minor adjustment every few months to hold speed properly, but it's easy to do once you know how. I would not be without this again, it saves your wrist on long rides big-time. You must follow the instructions carefully to the letter. Works just as shown in the video. My buddies will want one as soon as they see it! If installing on a Boulevard C50, install the cam spacer at the beginning, otherwise you will have to take the unit off to install it later when the directions tell you to.
