It can be somewhat difficult to install and adjust, but its easily worth the hassle. After using it to do a 1600 mile round trip, let me go ahead and say...WOW. Fantastic product. Really saved my right arm from fatigue. If you do any long haul trips, this is a must buy. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(5 stars) reviewed on 06/22/10 byRandy Peeler (rlpnva) from Henrico, VA, United States, for a 2005 Black 1100 V-Star Custom wrote: Works well, but primarily for those flat and straight boring highways - not for hills or winding turns. Installed fairly easily in about an hour (including adjustment) - and I'm no mechanic. Also works well over the Kuryakyn ISO grips. Good for relieving numb thumb, and I like the fact that I don't have to try to find the little button to release because this one has a mechanical auto-disengage when you pull the brake lever (worth the extra money in my opinion). (5 stars) reviewed on 07/16/09 byLee "Hogie" Hogman (lhogie) from Mascoutah, IL, United States, for a 2008 1100 V-Star Custom wrote: This "cruise control" maybe the BEST addition I've made! It works perfectly and I really like the design of releasing when the front brake is applied - the brake lever "trips" the release. It took a little bit to adjust so the throttle didn't bind, but the instructions are clear and straight-forward to help make adjustment easier. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(4 stars) reviewed on 07/22/06 byJoe (Gideon) from Perryville, MO, United States, for a 2005, Steel/flame 1100 V-Star Custom wrote: Took several hours to install. Didn't fit my Yamaha Vstar 1100 customv well as far as the linkage was concerned. It does go over the stock grips easily. Use the thick strip, not the think or medium! Had to use the "block" they inclued to extend the arm and when I start tightening the adjustments it kept causing the unit to torque, binding the throttle. Getting the main part on perfectly square is CRITICAL and keeping it there is challenging as you tighten the different adjustments to get it all ligned up. You'll notice how much space it does take up on the grip but I guess it's not too bad. Now that i've seen it and installed it, I do think it's awfully pricey. I stripped out the screw hole on the little black bumber that the brake handle hits so be CAREFUL not to over tighten that screw; it strips out the plastic threads real easy! I'll probably play with it some more another day to see if I can't really fine tune it. Mine sits on the grip just a little cocked which drives me... (5 stars) reviewed on 04/26/06 byDann (DNGRS1) from Mohave Valley, AZ, United States, for a 1100 V-Star Custom wrote: After reading all the reveiws of similar devices I decided to spend the money and buy this one; what a great decision. I can't believe I rode for so long without it. Locking and releasing the device is simple and actually becomes second nature. Installation was relatively easy, on stock grips, after reading the instructions. All neccessary tools were provided. Throttle is adjustable while in the locked position and there is an adjustment to make the clamping tension lighter or tighter. Anodized alluminum finish blends well with the chrome and I've actually had people ask what it is and go "ooh" and "aah" when I tell them. I recomend this device to anyone who is tired of having they're hand "welded" to the throttle on long rides, or just want to free up they're right hand once in a while. I don't know if anyone else did, but I couldn't get that rubber shim in there so I continued the installation without it. Everything seems to be working fine. It's already received a few looks from the guys in the shop. I really like the fact that the brake will disengage the throttle lock. I don't know that its actually worth $200, but I'd buy it again. Hell, what accessories are there that don't run in the $100's anyway. Installation was about an hour, directions and pictures weren't the best, but I was able to do my thing and figure it out. I have a 60 mile commute and this device has been a real relief for my right hand. I like the fact that a light touch of the front brake releases the throttle so it drops back to idle. It looks very good on the bike. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Excellent instructions with full details and pictures. I can't believe that some of the reviews ONLY gave it 4 out of 5! When it looks this good, works this well and installs this easily, I don't know why anyone would complain about the price. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful.
