It's not obvious from the single picture here, but this is 2-piece set of bars versus a single piece bar that goes all the way around. It attaches at the bottom near the foot controls (pushed forward a bit by a bracket) and to the frame at the top. That was a bit disappointing to me because I'm a tall guy (6'3") and I can't really use the highway bars to rest my feet. So for me, this product is just a nice visual addition to the bike, and I like it for that purpose. If your legs aren't as long as mine, you may be able to install some pegs and use it for an alternate place to rest your feet. Nice solid piece either way.

Installed it many years ago. Was involved in a wreck when someone ran me into a guardrail. Without the freeway bars installed, my leg might have been broken from the weight of the bike. Saved my bike from further damage from the wreck. Just a broken windshield, some shredded gloves and a broken right hand.

Great looking Freeway bars! I think this really enhances the look of the Shadow 750 ACE and hopefully will provide some much needed protection in the event that the bike ever goes down; As a matter-of-fact, last season when I was washing my bike out in our shared driveway, my distracted neighbor backed into my bike by clipping it via the highway bar. I was on the other side of the bike frantically trying to move it out of the way before it could hit the ground...Long story short, the bike didn't hit the ground and though the bar was caught and being pushed on the other side, the highway bar did its' job and suffered virtually no damage whatsoever. Pay particular attention when cleaning and waxing these bars to the welded areas around the mounting brackets as they can tend to rust if left unattended for too long.

Install was easy. Looks very nice. Make sure you use red lock tite and be carfull going around the corners if you are use to scrapping the pegs. The bars are not much higher then and scrapping bolts.

Look great! However, IF you have forward controls the bar crowds the brake and shifter. You can still get to them but it's awkward and you have to put your foot in between the bar and controls at an odd angle (not safe in an emergency). I have 6 inch forward controls and had to take the bar off after 1 ride. If you have mid-controls these are great but I wouldn't recommend with forwards.

Looks good. I would have given it 5 stars if it didn't scratch the powder coat off my frame - where it clamps on. If you get it, be careful, you may need to pry it open a bit to keep from scratching your bike. Otherwise, it's good looking, and was pretty easy to get on (I had my stock pipe off because I was moving my pegs, so no prob with pipes in the way, etc. EDIT: WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I PURCHASED?! and what does it mean? Anyway, all seems ok on my bike... "Important Disclaimer: On the 01-03 ACE models the pegs are narrower, most pegs won't fit those models, please contact us for details. "

Adds look to the bike and also protects it from accidental drops. I removed the exhaust completely to have easier access. And I also recommend being 2 people.
