Well I had these bars on the bike for four years and then I took them off. I took them off because as my skills improved I was able to lean the bike over more. A couple of times the bars made contact with the ground and levered the rear wheel off the ground. Luckily nothing happened but that was enough of a warning to know these bars could cause a lowside if ever in a maximum lean situation. As for the bars themselves, the chrome is good quality but watch for the weld joints. These were a constant location of rust. The bars are hollow so they are lighter then they appear yet still add a good 5-10 lbs. I recommend buying highway bars that are shaped differently so they do not decrease the bike's cornering clearance. Review Details 7 out of 7 members found this review helpful. I also liked the hardware used to attach the bar to the bike. Unfortunately, I am in the process of exchanging for a different bar because the first bar was causing damage to the engine fins on the front of the left side of the engine. The mounting bracket came in direct contact with the fins. The vibration of the motor caused the chrome to chip off the bracket and caused significant damage to three fins. The brackets also came in direct contact with my radiator cover and "smooshed" the cover inward. If the replacement causes the same problem, I will keep it but will have to grind out some of the mounting bracket to allow for clearance. I will also move the radiator forward by adding a spacer to the upper radiator mount. I appear to not be the only one this has happened to... Just something you should be aware of.. Ammendum: 7/3/04 Exchanged for different Cobra Bar, still hit left front engine fins. A friend with a dremmel g... Review Details 3 out of 3 members found this review helpful.
