Look great once they are one, can be done by one person, but I recommend a casual helper for supporting the bars while fiddling with the bolts. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

The steps required were simple, but getting all of the holes to line up took a fair amount of tweaking. Also, securing the bolts in the upper holes was tough due to the close clearances behind the frame. The job can be done without modification, but patience and an extra pair of hands are required! (5 stars) reviewed on 03/21/10 byJason Oskin (jasokin) from Natrona Heights, PA, United States, for a 2003 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: Looks good but alot of weld splatter marks on the bars by the tabs that were weled on that should have been sanded off prior to chrome plating. Difficult to install since the foot peg mount holes didn't line up after just getting all of the bolts in loosly. Had to use a floor jack and force it into position. Also doesn't come with chrome of stinless hardware. They give you steel fasteners which will rust. Had to go buy my own chrome fasteners at the harware store so add another $10+ bucs to the price. LOL. They fit nicely except for one small thing (at least on my bike).. The brake pedal would not push all the way down firmly (slow down but not stop).. So I ground about 1/8th inch from the part of the bars mounting plate that my brake pedal could touch; then put some clear coat on the grind which healed the desease instantly. NO PROBLEM!!! You CANNOT tell I ground it down a bit and I love how fat they are and the bull dog appearance is great. Oh! The chrome is tough cause they weren't even scrathed during the accidental tip I mentioned above.. Now that's a good point right there I don't care who you are.. Can you say; (quickly brush yourself off and act like it didn't happen).. LOL Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Ok, well, that's because I had the dealer do it. I didin't like the fact of because I have big hands, how hard it was to try and put on. The highway bar definitely beefs up the look of the bike. Really adds to the look of the bike. Stout built unit with strong attachment, hope I never have to test capability but am certain it will offer more protection if the bike should ever get down. I had trouble installing the nuts behind the frame gussets. This is not the fault of Cobra design but the bikes design. It just takes time a patients. Installing is not a 5 minute job. But once installed they look great and are a great value and adds some beef to the bike. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(3 stars) reviewed on 04/03/09 byPatrick McVay (GangstaPat) from Wylie, TX, United States, for a 2007 Black/Flame 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: This was a pain for a guy like me to install. First, it should have come with chrome hardware at the price Cobra is asking. It would cost them a whole lot less to buy them in bulk than it does their customers to go out and buy a handfull. Second, the bolt on the brake assembly just plain ol didn't fit. I had to go back out again. The bars are a tight fit, slightly scrunching a nearby radiator hose. Had to have help getting all the bolts in. I could get the bar to move enough, but needed someone else to put the bolt in while I pushed on the bars. The reviews that advise putting the bottom on first were dead on. In my case it was a must. I especially reccommend putting the bolt back on the brake cover first. Finally, I wish someone would have made a fatty bar for this bike. At the end of the day I do like the looks. They sorta bulk the bike out a bit. Hopefully, they will save me a little misery as I just graduated from sport bikes and have yet to get used to the feel of th... Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. And yes,yes,yes... drill out holes with an old shirt covering bike to catch metal shavings, install bottom first, then top,and I didn't have a problem with the washers and bolts, but I am a 'girl' so I have little fingers to get behind the frame. And I did remove the radiator cover to get the bars in place. Take your time and wait till your husband is at work to make things go smoothly!!!!! By the way, this is my second new bike, I started riding last March on a Honda 600 and after 5 months I decided it was too small!!! The guys at the Honda dealership love to see me walk in!!
