They are made out of big tubing, and that was one of my biggest fears. I didn't want some thin bar. These bars are thick and sturdy. The chrome on the bars is very nice and installation took me and my buddy about 10 minutes, tops. My only complaint about the bars is that they sit alittle too close to the bike's floorboards. I am 6'4" and I have very long legs. The bars sitting this close to the floorboards does reduce your foot space towards the front edges of the floorboards. Other than that, the bars are great.
