Don't replace reverse

I Took the cobra slashdown street rod baffles out to measure the lenght. My DB level would not pass SI it was 7 db too high. I was going to order these but I found another site that had these same baffles and stated the specs. for noice reduction was 3-5 db. I found an article were appearently another bike had similar problems and simply reverse the baffles that were in the slashdowns. I check it out and discovered doing so would restrict and exhaust flow a little more, so I too reversed the baffles I can't believe how much quieter my bike sounds and still has a better deep rumble, also I notice what appears to me as a little more bottom end torque. No more slight backfire when backing off quickly.

I installed Cobra Speedster Slashdowns on my VT1300 Sabre. They were a bit louder than I wanted, and had a "crack" sound that was noticeable at idle. I read a few reviews here and decided to try these out. They were exactly what I was looking for. The volume levels are great for me now. On the highway I hear the wind over the pipes. They have a great low-pitched rumble, with all hints of the "crack" having disappeared. In the process of changing the baffles I did check to see what the bike would sound like without any baffles, and all I can say is LOUD. I agree with others on here that Cobra should sell their pipes with these baffles already installed. Maybe they even rate the volume levels. 1 for their Quiet Baffles, 2 for their straight-through baffles (the ones that come with the pipes now), and 3 for baffle-free. Thanks CruiserCustomizing for a very speedy turnaround time. I placed the order last week and they were waiting for me when I got home Friday. The were on my bike t...

Good quality baffles as you'd expect from anything made in the U.S.A. The baffles don't make that much difference in making the exhaust note more quieter,so I took them out and put the original baffles back in......back to the louder sound again.......I love it!

The baffles leave a gap between the pipes. Sound quieter at lower speeds, but when accelerating much louder and a terrible sound. These baffles should be made to be a snug fit, so the exhaust gas can't pass the baffles. DON'T BUY THESE BAFFLES

Like previous reviews state, these take that little extra crack out of the sound but leave that deep rich rumble that we all love!

Did exactly what the description said, took the edge of the noise and made it still had a nice strong sound but I no longer need to wear ear plugs when riding. Excellent Product.

Very pleased with these baffles. Got rid of the loud "crack" sound when I would goose it. Still has a nice mellow roar when I goose it. Idle sounds good, lowered noise as advertised. Easy install.

As someone else has written here earlier, this should be the standard core for the Cobra streetrod! The sounds is not that much reduced, but deeper and not that ridiculously aggressive. I went from embarrassed to proud with the installation of thees quiet cores:) If you are going to buy Cobra Streetrod, order theese as well!

I have these installed in my Cobra Slashdowns and they do make a difference. After installing the pipes without the baffles I took the bike for a spin around town. Nice bright day so there were lots of people out walking. Every single one of them spun around as I got nearer with "WTF??" plastered across their faces. After installing the baffles i took the same ride and was paid virtually no attention to. They drop the volume from obnoxiously loud to just below acceptable. The pipes are still nice and loud but now i don't feel like such a douche for coming home late.

I just received these (2) today and installed them in my Cobra Speedster Slashdown pipes. It was relatively easy to unscrew and slide out the existing open baffles and slide in and secure these new ones, and although it does quiet the exhaust noise down slightly, it's not nearly as much of a difference as I thought it would be. (I guess I should have trusted that rating of 3~5 decibles more, which isn't really very much at all.) One thing that surprised me as soon as I opened the box was that they are not the 15" as advertised, they are just over 8" long, and say on the wrapper that they fit 8 5/8" to 15" bodies. Because of that fact they are not as long as the advertised picture makes them look. I guess that's not really a problem, but I would think a longer baffle would cut down the noise level more than these short ones. Installation tip: very long nose needle nose pliers help to grasp and pull out the existing baffles. Update: I've since removed these baffles, as I think t...
