I installed Cobra Speedster Slashdowns on my VT1300 Sabre. They were a bit louder than I wanted, and had a "crack" sound that was noticeable at idle. I read a few reviews here and decided to try these out. They were exactly what I was looking for. The volume levels are great for me now. On the highway I hear the wind over the pipes. They have a great low-pitched rumble, with all hints of the "crack" having disappeared. In the process of changing the baffles I did check to see what the bike would sound like without any baffles, and all I can say is LOUD. I agree with others on here that Cobra should sell their pipes with these baffles already installed. Maybe they even rate the volume levels. 1 for their Quiet Baffles, 2 for their straight-through baffles (the ones that come with the pipes now), and 3 for baffle-free.
