They really beefed up the sound. Very pleased with the results. Still have baffles in and still loud. I never jeted the carb left factory settings untouched. The only problems I ran into is with the installation. The rear exhaust motor mount needed to be grinded down just slightly as it would not install past the header fins. Also needed to do some jockeying with the support mounts ie: factory bolts did not fit I needed to get my own bolt.

Performance wise, these exhausts definitly made some improvements. Sound wise, they're a bit too loud for my taste, but I'm definitly conspicuous in traffic with the volume these pipes put out. So part of me says, "Great, as the bike sounds and performs better", but the other part says, "I'm going deaf" as I use ear plugs to help keep the ringing in my ears down. These pipes came with the bike not installed. The bike had the original piples installed at purchase. I'm hoping to modify the baffle a bit to tone them down, or put the originals back on until that happens. I will probably helicoil the thread holes for these as the threads are just into aluminum and are showing signs of wear.

Got rid of the sewing machine sound, About 1/2 the weight of the stock pipes. easy to install, everything lined up to stock mounting spots. great looks, great rubbleling sound, enough so other vehicals hear me now. they could even be louder for my taste, but overall I am impressed with the pipes. huge improvment on power!

These were originally the Cobra Boulevard Slash-cut exhuast when they first came out in the mid-90's. They were about the only aftermarket exhaust available for the Vulcan 800's back then. Good pipes, but did not come with full-length heat shields which sucked.
