I had my local mechanic install these for me. I also had the EFI computer installed matching these pipes. Now this 1800 sounds like the beast that it is.

Great pipes, I've had V&H Big Shots on my 05 VTX1800R, and these have a much deeper, solid tone to them. I did have to have the heat shields shortened, cut them to 3 1/8 in. to fit next to the stock shields. Sliding them under the existing shields as the instructions state does not work, and causes a vibration at certain rpm's. Definitley mount the main bracket first, then pipes individually, then attach all parts, great recommendation from an earlier review.

Just finished installing Cobra pipes on my '07 VTX 1800 Tourer... install was pretty straight forward. Had to smooth out I.D. (rat-tail file ) due to welding flash and ridge inside pipes to fit over stock exhaust pipes. Would recommend installing mounting bracket on lower pipe, installing lower, installing upper, and THEN bolting upper to mounting bracket. Way to difficult to try to slide on BOTH pipes at same time, as Cobra directions recommend. Other than that, install was fairly easy... LOVE the sound and the look. Would recommend these to anyone wanting to save a few bucks ( about half ) over full system.
