Cobra's Speedster systems combine traditional styling and modern performance technology. These triple-chromed, shotgun-styled pipes feature full-length, 222-degree heat shields, chromed aluminum billet tips and are available in long, short and slashdown versions. They also deliver power gains over stock that are among the highest in the business. In part those gains come from the Cobra PowerPort, our proprietary crossover technology that helps to increase overall power from idle to redline. The end result is the Speedsters deliver the kind of power increase you normally experience with a 2-into-1 system, while retaining the clean classic lines of a 2-into-2 pipe.
These traditionally styled shotgun pipes also produce class-leading power gains.
Includes our limited Lifetime Warranty.

    Hi PKM1Beer,
Here is what California says about replacing your exhaust. (I know it is long..... but it basically says a Slip on muffler is ok under the law). So these should work for you.
    http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/slip-on-slashcuts-honda-vtx1300c-04-09...

What exhaust systems and slip-on mufflers are considered “replacement parts”?
Under California Air Resources Board (CARsmiley regulations, “Replacement parts” are parts that have
the same effect on emissions as the original equipment part that they are intended to replace. In
the case of exhaust systems for motorcycles and ATVs, CARB considers aftermarket exhaust
systems to be replacement parts if either of the following conditions is met:
    1. The vehicle was not originally equipped with a catalyst and all emission controls originally
connected to the exhaust system are reconnected to the aftermarket exhaust system and are
functioning properly. (It is rare for other emission controls to be connected to a non-catalyst
motorcycle or ATV exhaust system, but examples include an exhaust gas oxygen sensor or an air
    injection system.)
    2. The vehicle was originally equipped with one or more catalysts, but the catalyst(s) are retained and
all emission controls originally connected to the exhaust system (e.g., an oxygen sensor) are
reconnected to the aftermarket exhaust system and are functioning properly.
As long as they meet the above definition of “replacement parts,” “slip-on” mufflers are legal for use
in California unless the muffler being replaced contained a catalyst.

I don't know what the decibal limit is in California,,however I'm pretty sure that most pipes would qualify..Some brands offer different baffles probably with the understanding that CA is a little over the top,,Most anyone in customer service at CC would know, hell thats where they are located!! ))
