I've had the Cobra Short Shots for approximately six months and they're the best after market product you could put on your VTX.I had my local mechanic install them in about one and a half hours. They look fantastic, they sound awesome.......LOUD....ooh yeah! Everyone admires them and makes comments about the pipes and how beautiful the Honda VTX 1800 C looks with them on. Although make sure you install a Power Commander Fuel Processor,it'll run and idle much smoother and cleaner. At idle it has a loud (but not too loud) rumble, and when you want it not to be too noisy(like when you see a police car)I shift up to top gear and she'll coast along quietly. But when you want to give the VTX some throttle, she sounds like a Gattling Gun flatout.........Absolutely Awesome.I ran my VTX for a couple of days before I could install the Power Commander and the noise was like an untuned, backfiring, obnoxious hot rod.But after installing the Power Commander the exhaust note was even and smooth,(But st...

The pictures for the "Speedster Shorts" show the system ending at the rear axle...actually, the system is a few inches longer than this(mine anyway) as you can see in my picture. Of course, this really doesnt matter, they have a VERY healthy sound, are reasonably easy to install (the heat shields were a bit of a pain snaking the hose clamps around the pipe and then getting them into a perfect position to tighten them down. However, have a little patience and you will suceed... The bike runs EXCELLENT with them on (I also added a fuel injection module so it didnt run too lean) I highly recommend these pipes...

Got these pipes from another dealership. It took me about 3 hours to install. NOTE: Make sure that you buy a new set of exhaust gaskets. Although, I am just using the stock air filter and no fuel processors, I do not see any difference in the performance level. No problems in installation and it certainly looks sleek. The ride is much better and center aligned as these pipes reduce considerable weight on the right. There is occasional popping when you shift down through low gears if you dont follow the recommended RPMs for downshifting in the owners manual, but this was the case with the stock pipes as well. Apart from that, you will also notice the new metal smoking for a minute or so near the cylinder head and around the heat shield clamps when you fire it up for the first time. (I hope that this normal) The sound is laden heavy in idle and high throttle, but not too loud, although I wish it was a notch deeper - but boy! it sure does announce the power these motors are packin'. I'll ...
