About Me
Hey,
My names Don, I've been in and out of motorcycles in my early years. I took some years off, but knew something was missing. I bought a Suzuki C-50, and the game was on. Since that day I ride to work 68 miles every day over 30 deg. F. and love to ride ANYWHERE else. In 2008 I bought an 08 Yamaha RoadStar 1700s use it to split the miles I was racking up on the suz. My Pop lives in the same town and rides a Yamaha 650
I come from a military family. Grandad was in the Navy, Dad was in the Army, I joined the Marine Corps. My first son Went into the Marine Corps, (now living in Washington with his wife) and our middle son JUST joined the Marine Corps. I keep telling them AirForce chow is better, they dont listen.
If u plan on being in NE. Indiana give me a message, I can meet ya somewhere, or just give you an emerg. # if you break down and need trailered some where or back to my house. I can handle most issues to include tires. Hope you all enjoy your rides half as much as I have.
HMMM. so far seems like any other day, I woke up showered, had some eggs, with potato's, cheese, onion and tomato. got around, grabbed my lunch. Nice clear morning, really beautiful start of a day. 31Deg. F, this morning makes me want to go hunting instead of work, but no........ 4th Friday I've had to work in a row. sux, went 3 years @4days 11hrs. a day, OH well I have a job, SO I CAN NOT BI#CH. Hmm. maybe there was some effect of Friday the 13th. My right foot was numb as usual, but in addition to that, I was having some sharp biting pain from the shins down on both legs, and some tingling of my fingers, really started to bug the sh*t out of me. THEN WHAT DO I SEE........... Some fricking idiot, was riding his scoot this morning, s.o.b. must have been cold,,,, thats when it hit me. IT WAS 31deg. F.!!!!!!!! so I tucked my legs a little tighter to the Yamaha 1700 iceburg, trying to suck off the last once of heat, and had dreams of plugging some gloves into my ac. outlet.
I was relieved to find that I am just a MC nut and it had nothing to do with this silly Friday the 13th crap.
As per the usual my wife and I went to Menton, AL this November to celebrate our anniversary. We stay at a cabin www.mentonelogcabins.com and go site seeing. This year was slightly different because we were able to bring the bike with. We were able to go riding in the mountians, albeit small mountians, it was a great ride. There were plenty of switchbacks and twisties. We went to eat at "Brocks" in Trenton, GA. a nice small place to eat. Cassie is a great waitress. If you ever get a chance to go to Mentone, Al., I suggest in the fall the colors are great and it's cooler. DeSoto Falls are a nice place to visit as is the Little River Canyon and Cloudland State Park. I have video on my site and some pictures.
