Used my favorite riding boots as a 'template' to determine exactly where and angle at which to install so my feet fit the highway pegs. HINT: fits best on the VN1700 with 1 bolt just inside and the other bolt just outside the lower fairing shield. Tilt the foot rest up a bit to tighten the inner bolt (on each side) with an L-shaped hex wrench of the appropriate size e.g., about 7.5 mm. Expensive: Cost was a bit of a deterent at first but on a cross-country ride having both heels/ankles and balls of feet supported makes the comfort worth every penny.
