They do make a big but subtle difference. People see pictures of my bike before and after and say it looks a lot better. Few have noticed exactly what I added different! If you get a good deal on a set then buy them. If you don't get them on just right (rubber bushings and all) then they will rattle and drive you nuts. If you are creative I am sure you can come up with a better way to mount. I am toying around with a couple of ideas including nutserts in the mountin holes.
