(4 stars) reviewed on 06/27/12 by(Flush) from Charlotte, NC, United States, for a 2000 1100 Shadow Aero wrote: I received the left side engine cover today. So I find out what others have mentioned with the tabs on the mounting bracket. Mine was very close to fitting. Didn't really want to bend them. Thought about just filing them down it was so close but went with a couple taps with the rubber mallet & TADA! Not a big fan of the bolts (not in pics) right in the middle of the cover but I'm not sure I could think of a better way to attach it to the bracket. Overall I really like it but be aware that dealing with those tabs is the trick to install. It adds a lot of beef to the left side. Should have been original equipment. (2 stars) reviewed on 03/07/12 byJavier Valadez (myshadow98) from san marcos, CA, for a 1998 1100 Shadow Aero wrote: I just got this piece of you know what today. First of all, it does not look like the one on the picture. There are two holes right on the face of it. as for putting it on the bike, it is a hell of a problem. You really have to have patience, you will have to fight this critter to get it on there. At first, it looks like it will not fit, but eventually you will be able to install it. I have to admit, it does look nice once it is on the bike. Would I recommend it? maybe not. Really bad design as to the installation part, very pricey too, considering the piece. If you decide to buy it, good luck and arm your self with lots of patience. Safe riding! Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Big differnce over the stock black part of the engine. Chrome is always a good thing, and this peice gives you plenty of it. Easy install as well Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Fortunately, this was REAL metal chrome plated. The instruction pictures stunk bad so don't count on that for much help. I had to bend the slide tabs back in order to fit it on the engine but they bent easy. This cover is definitely worth the price in my book. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I was willing to live without it until I saw used on ebay. Price new is too much for me. Sturdy piece with good mounting design. Having problems getting the side cover on and off since installing this piece. I'm having to bend it to get clearance for the side cover. That was unexpected. Knocking off one star because of this.
