Installed this behind the head light. Cobra light bar had a mechanical "on" and "off" switch that allowed me to save my battery in case of a need. National light bar does not have any switches for "on" or "off", so this addition was very useful. This is how it works: Ignition on - low beam head light only. Hi beam switch on - Hi beam head light and light bar. Low beam switch on - Low beam head light and light bar. Hi beam - Hi beam head light only. Low beam - Low beam head light only. Then the above cycle repeats. Wiring had to be altered for dual element sealed beams from Küryakyn .
