This particular model is electronic and has a background light. To physically mount this product is pretty easy. However, to connect the wiring, the fuel tank must be removed. There are other electronic gauges and speedo on the fuel tank. For that reason I let a dealer connect the wiring from the tachometer. My bike is garage kept but I wash it with water and it has spent some long trips and overnights in the rain without any issues. This model does not interfere with the windshield in any way.
