These wonderful bolt-on saddlebag supports provide easy on-off latching for your bags. You don't need an engineering degree or a dedicated afternoon to install. Other than a drill (to drill the holes in your bags), the Ghost Brackets do not require any tools. Many of our customers have been able to install the brackets and the bags in about an hour.
Requires Adapter kit #RS-101
This accessory fits all current model years for:
- Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic

It's really cool. I typically like running w/o bags. Now that I ride solo, I didn't have a good way to secure my throwover bags. The install is not hard. Make sure the the mounting pins are alligned on the same plane. The bags mount in seconds and are secured by a lock. I recommend the carrying strap also by Ghost Brackets. Lets you cary the bags from the bike to the room like luggage. Not too much more to pay for convienence.

These are great. You can put your saddlebags on when you need them and remove them when you don't and it does not change the look of the bike

These would not fit when shipped. A call to the company resoved the problem. They had to send me a set of 4 spacers used on the road star and everything went together just fine.
The spacers are needed to allow the brackets to be mounted without removing the chrome trim on the rear fenders. Perhaps on earlier V-star 1100 classics they worked okay, but not on a 2002 V-star.
The brackets themselves do what they say, and work great. One does need to mount very stiff, heavy leather, or similiar saddlebags to these mounts or the bags will over time sag a lot. I am experimenting with a backing plate inside the saddlebags to minimize the sagging
