Our Progressive Rate Fork Springs soak up small road bumps yet can absorb the larger ones. The Progressively Wound design gives you the best of both worlds. When you install these fork springs you'll be amazed at the improvement you'll feel in the handling and ride of your cruiser. The rates and lengths of these Progressively Wound Springs have been carefully designed to fit most cruiser models. Spring rates have been chosen to reduce front end "dive" under braking yet still provide excellent ride comfort. Plus, we warranty our fork springs for life! Progressive Rate Springs have many advantages over straight rate springs. A straight rate spring only offers linear resistance to compression and is a compromise. Got these thinking they would make a world of difference based on all the reports I read here and on the kawa forum. They didn't improve the ride much. Seems very stiff now; The bike doesn't bottom out at all, but never really did that before unless I really hit a big bump. I might experiment with the bushing size and see if having less pre-dampening will soften the ride a little.

My Road Star has the additional weight of a Quadzilla fairing. Washers and PVC pipe were included in the kit and were cut down to the point of maximum preload. The ride is only slightly harsher, and front end height is up by 1/2" with minimal squat when I sit on it, resulting in far better cornering clearance, a much better feel for what's going on in front on aggressive cornering, terrific response in side to side transitions, and I can comfortably go 5mph faster on my favorite twisty road without touching a floorboard, when I was dragging them all the way around the corners before. This is by far and away the best improvement that I've made to my Road Star. Can hardly wait to install the 420 shock.
