Wear them over slacks to provide protection and warmth and allow my slacks to remain clean and wrinkle free. I don't have to use the warm liner except for the coldest month. Great all around and quite waterproof - have ridden in the rain a number of times and remained dry. There is no airflow through these pants unless the zippers are opened a bit, top and bottom, and then I am able to wear these in quite warm weather comfortably.
