I installed the V&H cruzers, and this is needed for an 09 custom 650. The hardest part was the brass screws, super soft metal like everyone else says. The right side took literally 2-3 hours just to get the 8 screws out. After screws are out, rest was easy. Used cc&d site for re-jet instructions tho. I replaced brass screws with hex heads, you need 15 m4-8-10, and 1 shorter one because of the choke cable, if you put a long on in that, it squeezes it and choke gets stuck. took 2 inexperienced 7 hours including 2 trips for screws to complete. the trouble shooting was the scary part, you sync the carbs when jetting, but I am going to take to shop to get fine tuned. but with baffles in now, its loud as hell, and gears are stretched out a bit more. over all, I love the performance upgrade, and plan on installing hyper-charger next time I feel like being frustrated all day, probably next summer.

Install took about 1 hour from setup to cleanup. This is fairly easy to do if you have an exploded view of the carbs or experience with motorcycle carbs. One caution is to use an impact screwdriver or the brass screw heads on the carb will likely strip. Installed these with a set of Jardine pipes and I can feel a moderate performance increase. Definately worth the money. I would get the K&N filter to go along with it.

Had to rejet after getting the Hard Krome pipes and the Tornado intake. Installation wasn't too bad, even for an idiot like me.

not worth the money or time, jets were the same size that were from the factory stock, still had to order larger jets for the bike to run smothly with exhaust & instake mods.

Waste of $60 because I ended up doing the RAK modification and I ended up having to buy bigger jets. The only thing that I used were the adjustable needles. Kit is still way overpriced for what you get.

Once I put my exhaust and intake on, the bike was running super lean. it was not ridable. The Jet kit did the trick, but the biggest jets it came with were the same size that my bike already had on it. Luckily my intake came with much bigger jets (which I used). the installation was a bit of a challene. I ended up taking the carborators out completely, but now that it's in, the bike runs real nice. you don't get much for your $80 either. Its' two pins and two screws basically. Probably cost $5 in Taiwan. But can't do without it...

Just installed. the instructions were very bad... it still only took me about 2.5 hours but you should have a shop book handy. the needles can be found under the covers on the right side of the bike. just under than you will see a copper plug with a small hole in the middle. that is what you need to drill out for the adjusting screw. on the left side of the bike you have to remove the boal and the main jet is the middle of the three copper tubes that come down in the boal. but it bact together and your done with a few small adjustments to the sync. and the idel screw. gives the bike a much deeper sound even with the stock pipes. and it will rev up much faster and smoother too.

comprehensive rejetting that you can accomplish in one easy step. There is no install a set of jets, reassemble, run it, disassemble, change jets and repeat involved here. While a bit on the pricy side, it sure is the most painfree way to do jetting i personaly have ever seen. Straightforeward to install, and accompanied by detailed instructions, it is as easy as changing jets/needles on any other bike. There is more issue in getting at the carbs than in tha actual install. Lastly, even with the stock exhaust, it really makes a difference.

Generic instructions included with kit. Get a Clymer or factory manual for more details. Also, have a good screwdriver for carb cover screws.

I bought the kit from Phatperformanceparts.com. It was advertised on their site as a Thunder Stage 1 kit, but I received a Dynojet kit, hmmmm. Intallation is far more complex than the limited pre-purchase info would have you believe. Let me dispell a myth- the Dynojet DJ-90 main jets are NOT the same as the stock Yamaha 90's, you DO need to change them. I verified this with Dynojet. Step one of this project is to obtain a tool called an "impact driver". You can buy them at autozone for $10. This will make removing the brass screws from the carbs a cake walk compared to the hell you will otherwise endure. Buy some extra carb screws (metric) from your dealer beforehand just in case. If you plan on leaving the carbs on the bike, buy about 4, because thats how many you will ruin while removing them. FYI, the replacement Yamaha screws seem much more durable than the originals. You will need to remove the instrument panel, gas tank, surge tank, and air box to complete thi...
