I haven't had any backfiring. My brother installed the same pipes on his bike without the Power Commander and has back firing when he decellerates. So, they are doing the job for me, but I will be taking my bike to get dynoed so I can get the most out of the unit. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. (4 stars) reviewed on 06/20/06 byRoger (mrrogercruz) from El Dorado Hills, CA, United States, for a 2005 Metallic Blue 1800 VTX1800N wrote: Install is simple -- the hard part is dealing with tank removal. After DL the map closest to my setup -- no maps for my pipe, intake, and block off plates -- I get pops each time I shift up or down (when throttle is at 0%). Tried different maps from Dynojet.com with similar results. Watching the software run, i can see that my popping is at 0% throttle and between 2500 -3000 RPMs. Tried increasing this myself and noticed a less high-pitch pop, but then figured it's best to wait for the pros to do it. cool gizmo! I didn't notece a huge power difference but it eliminated 90% of the poping in the exhaust and the throttle is much smoother and runs much better at low rpms.
