I used these with "The Leatherworks" 111bop saddlebags and I couldn't ask for a better set up. The quality of these are great, very clean machined parts and when you take the brackets off the bike you can hardly tell it isn't stock. The install on the bike took less than five minutes even with no instructions included, you simply remove one rear fender bolt at a time and pop the replacement in, it's as simple as that. I did have to drill the holes in my saddlebag to put these on but I don't consider that hard at all. By the way, these will work on a vtx retro---part number vtx-r2
