Overall Ratings: (5 stars) Reviewed on 10/17/07 by
CruiserCustomizing Staff: Kyle Bradshaw (ManyBikes) from Livermore, CA for a 2003 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro:

I use this heat-troller to power my 90 watt jacket liner and gloves. Twice I have used the 'y' cord to plug both my passenger and myself into the heat.

The knob moves smoothly with an indent only in the off position. This unit is very adjustable and mounts simply to the positive an negative battery terminals.

Works as advertised.

This product works as advertised.  Impressed by the LED indicator light and the attached velcro for mounting at the location of my choice on my bike.

Super easy to install, took about five minutes. I still need to put a mount on under my seat for the device itself, but in the meantime I've just put it in my lap. The device is simple to operate as well. I use it with my heated jacket liner and heated gloves, works like a charm.

Good idea to get. Helps control the temperature of the glove so they can be used in "warmer" weather. Gloves can get pretty hot otherwise

Just to clarify, that adaptor I talked about above is not fused, so if you go down this path I would ensure that the battery tender lead you connect to is a fused one.

By the picture it looks like it uses a round plug and socket as opposed to the usual battery tender plug which has 2 pins (one exposed and one hidden in the plastic fitting), so the answer looks like a no.
But, there is no electrical reason why you couldn't change each end of the kit to the standard battery tender plug arrangements. Just use some neat soldering and insulate the joins in the wire with some heatshrink (making sure you have the DC voltage polarity the correct way around before using it)
Or, if you dont have any spare tender plugs....just buy something like this:
http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/6-inch-sae-connection-to-dc-coax-jack-... (just make sure it is the correct size for the kit you are interested in)

    Cheers, Steve
