I suggest any documents (or other items) be sealed in a zip-lock bag prior to storage in the Grifter. Also, plastic construction makes this item nice and light weight (which is good for a bike) and inexpensive. It's not quite waterproof, so I use a plastic bag to hold my registration and insurance card - which keeps everything accessible and dry. Good product, simple install. Mounted it on my Vulcan 900C so it opens down. Put copies of my insurance card and other paperwork in a ziplock bag. One bad thing is I wish it had a metal hinge. With a few years of use, I can see the plastic fatiguing and splitting where the two halves are connected. I would have also liked a rubber gasket for waterproofing. It didn't fit too well with my Aero 750 license plate mounting and light. It is a tight fit and the light is partially blocked. The close fit makes it difficult to open. I have not put anything into it yet. I will probably put my registration papers there and hope that I don't have to access them too often.
