(3 stars) reviewed on 09/13/12 byRichard (CloseToTheVest) from , , for a 0 900 Vulcan Classic LT wrote: Easy to install. Not as weather secure as is implied. I suggest any documents (or other items) be sealed in a zip-lock bag prior to storage in the Grifter. Also, plastic construction makes this item nice and light weight (which is good for a bike) and inexpensive. But the lock would not prevent a determined thief, so don't put an extra key or other important items in the storage box. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(3 stars) reviewed on 05/08/10 byNathan (omninate) from Rochester, NY, United States, for a 2008 1300 V-Star wrote: I installed this on my V-Star 1300, and I absolutely love it! It's not quite waterproof, so I use a plastic bag to hold my registration and insurance card - which keeps everything accessible and dry. Good product, simple install. (3 stars) reviewed on 01/26/10 bypjamese3 (pjamese3) from Killeen, TX, United States, for a 2009 900 Vulcan Custom wrote: Easy install. Just had to drill a few holes. Mounted it on my Vulcan 900C so it opens down. Put copies of my insurance card and other paperwork in a ziplock bag. One bad thing is I wish it had a metal hinge. With a few years of use, I can see the plastic fatiguing and splitting where the two halves are connected. I would have also liked a rubber gasket for waterproofing. Unfortunately it won't work on the Kuryakyn LED license plate holder. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

The "hinge" is plastic, so I'm not sure how long it will last before breaking. Also, I have to work with the key to open the lock, not very smooth. (3 stars) reviewed on 07/22/07 byJohn (jlysinger) from Castle Rock, CO, United States, for a 2006 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: Wanted to add another spot for storing. Will keep insurance, registration, etc. As some have mentioned I'm concerned that it may not keep the water out. Will put everything in a plastic bag. Was concerned it might not work with my chrome license plate frame but it all fit together well. Everything went together pretty easily. Review Details 1 out of 2 members found this review helpful. (3 stars) reviewed on 07/06/06 byJerry (MCRD66) from Lenexa, KS, United States, for a 2006, black 750 Shadow Aero wrote: This is a good idea. It didn't fit too well with my Aero 750 license plate mounting and light. It is a tight fit and the light is partially blocked. The close fit makes it difficult to open. I have not put anything into it yet. I will probably put my registration papers there and hope that I don't have to access them too often. I wouldn't buy this again only because the fit is too tight making it difficult to use. Review Details 4 out of 4 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
