Add Chrome To Your Dash With Kuryakyn's Inner Fairing Dress Up Kit

By Glenn Zetterquist (Zee331)

You spend a lot of time in the saddle of your Harley Davidson Electra Glide, Street Glide or FL Trike so why not improve the view from where you sit. As an avid rider, you spend more time looking through the windshield and at the inner cockpit area than at any other part of your bike.

Now that you have added chrome throughout your bike for those around you to enjoy, it’s time to add a Kuryakyn Inner Fairing Dress-Up Kit to improve your view. The Kuryakyn Inner Fairing Dress-Up Kit KY-7229 for ’96 to ’13 Harley Davidson Electra Glides, Street Glides and FL Trikes is an easily installed 3-piece kit that will drastically transform the look of your inner fairing area.

The kit contains a pair of brilliantly chromed Speedo and Tachometer Accent Brows, Ignition Switch Accent Panel and a Chrome Stereo Accent with stereo cover. Covering the original pieces with these beautiful chrome accent pieces is a practical upgrade that is easy to perform. The stock Harley Davidson Ignition Switch Panel is a rough textured piece that attracts and holds road grime and is difficult to keep clean. The Kuryakyn smooth Chrome Accent Panels do not attract and hold dirt, and fingerprints are easily removed with the wipe of a clean cloth.

Easy Installation Tips

Compared to other modifications that you have made, installing the Kuryakyn Inner Fairing Dress-Up Kit is one of the easiest upgrades to perform. No tools or removing of parts are needed. Each piece contains a simple peel and stick self-adhesive backing, and the adhesive used has a monster grip that is guaranteed to hold. Because the adhesive is so strong installation is a one-shot deal. Once the adhesive makes contact with your bodywork, it isn’t coming back off.

Because you only get one shot, it is important to take your time. Most of us tend to ignore the instructions and just go for it. Don’t do that here. Slow down and read them first. Make sure to thoroughly clean your bodywork and wipe with an alcohol swap where you will be applying the accent pieces. Make several “dry runs” by holding the pieces in place, checking your alignment and planning exactly where you will place each piece before ever peeling the backing off of the adhesive. Remember, you only get one shot.

Once you have permanently attached each piece with the adhesive backing apply light pressure with your hand for approximately one minute to allow the adhesive to set. Now jump on and admire how a few simple accent pieces have transformed your view from the saddle. Awesome has never been so easy.
