I love the freedom first of all. While in place fastened, you can readily flip the chin up to snack, chat, or scoop in huge fresh air on a warm day in slow traffic. It does have a noise issue, but I'm sure if I really put in some effort, I could solve it. It might be in combination using a windshield causing some turbulence. But the secure feeling if you had to take flight is what matters. I've been in flight before, and walked away only scratched from a head on. Sometimes you cannot avoid someone crossing over out of the blue. I even took it with to snowmobile one weekend. Sure it fogs up if fully closed, and I looked for a heated element to add to it, then the snow melted. If someone has a heated element that works, please let me know. Quality first. All the other guys had to remove their helmet to talk along the way when on the trail. Not me. It's 20 below for crying out-loud. The chin lock works great with gloves on. I'd buy it even if it cost more, because it...

Great Helment. Face lifts up with one hand. You can also lift the shield only--or both independently. Very quiet and confortable. Vents work very well.

I like this helmet because I can put it on and take it off without taking off my prescription glasses. It is not as expensive as the Shoei models which have a flip up chin bar (Newer SynchroTec older DuoTec). The latching mechanism is plastic which some of the magazines think will not last as long or be as strong as a metal latching system, but it works more than adequately for me. It is a good idea to try them on for size before buying, because not all manufacturers use the same sizing system, else my head is still growing! Despite advertisements you may have seen, it is not wise to ride around with the chinbar flipped up in the air. The manufacturer never meant for anyone to ride around with the chinbar up. The chinbar restricts your side vision when it is flipped up. Also, riding around with the chinbar flipped open, the air will tend to pull the helmet up and choke you or move your head around. The face shield cannot be closed for eye protection if the chi...

I am in love with this helmet! Other than those very short trips whene I use a beanie, this is the greatest. Stop for a drink, take a photo, scratch your nose, whatever; it is so much easier than removing your helmet.

Decent Helmet, My expectations were tempered when I had read that these 'fip face' helmets were noisey. They are and it bugs me but the enjoyment of being able to flip the face on it for comfort outways the noise issue. I don't wear this helmet all the time, usually a Vega Half helmet, but when it gets cold or looks like rain this HJC comes off the shelf. Great Helmet for what it is. I should add, that this is the first "Flip Face" helmet I have owned.

Actually bought the one made by Vega called the Summit. Purchased that because it comes in illusion blue which matches the bike. GReat concept for when you want more protection than half helmet, but want to breathe in the heat.

This is one of the most competitively priced flip-up helmets on the market. It is nicely designed. Looks good. Single hand operation to open. Ventilation is fine. It's noticeably lighter weight than my Bombardier flip-up helmet. All my other helmets (various brands) are size L. This helmet in size L was initially a little tight, but it loosened up after a few monts of wear.

I think this helmet is the best thing since sliced bread. My speakers fit inside the helmet perfectly and I can drink fluids while riding with the flip up face shield. Great purchase. The lock seems to be heavy duty.
