Installation was not hard, but it took a few minute to figure out where to mount. The brackets that the rail mounts too is not in clear site without sitting in the floor and looking up under the fender. Direction are vague. The rail mounts to the bracket that the lower shock guards are mounted to. I'm sorry I do not know the correct name for the guards. Once you find the bracket and the four bolts the rest is pretty easy. Remove the nuts from both guards and remove from bike. When matching up the rail to the bracket holes, I found I had to compress the rear of the rail a little. Once I did that, it was very easy to match the holes. Re-insert the guards and install nuts. I have a Show Chrome fender tip on my bike that I might remove. The rail is barely touching the tip. With rail installed, you have to look hard to see the tip anyway.
