The Saddle Bag Supports, along with the Luggage Rack and the Cobra Sissy Bar which I put on for long rides required the bolts. In other words had to have them and they work perfectly. The mounting kit has spacers that you put between the brackets and the fender. These require longer bolts (included) in order to accomidate the extra length. The bolts that come with the mounting kit have two things which prevent them from being used with the Cobra Saddlebag Supports: 1) the flange is too large to fit down in the little cup on the supports and 2) they have bungie hooks which push out on the saddlebags from underneath and would eventually wear though. The Cobra supports don't come with any mounting hardware and say to use the stock bolts. Those are now too short. I have been looking for weeks to find a solution. These bolts are made to go with the Honda Saddlebag Supports, but look just like the stock bolts, only longer. They should work perfectly.
